About the Practice |
Developed in 2015 as an independent private practice, Achieve Balance is a Arnold, MD-based agency rooted in the intention to provide compassionate, affirming, strengths-based care. This intimate practice is the manifestation of my belief that all people should be treated with dignity and positive regard as they take the steps they see fit to reach their potential. Maintaining a straightforward, results-focused approach to therapy, I engage clients in evidence-informed practice that unfolds at their own pace. I strive to provide my clients with a warm, comfortable atmosphere, where they can be free to engage fully in the work at hand.
Clinician Biography
|
On my journey to becoming a Clinical Social Worker, I received Masters' and Bachelors' degrees in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Schools of Social Work, respectively. My professional experience has afforded me opportunities to employ a multitude of therapeutic approaches in working with families, children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. In addition to holding license to practice Clinical Social Work, I am certified as a Substance Abuse Counselor. I have also worked extensively with survivors of trauma and abuse, and with youth in foster care and their families.
Having embraced a strengths-based perspective, I am largely a Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy-oriented clinician, and I embrace the concept of healing and coping through mindfulness. I believe that empathy, education, and personal motivation are key to achieving mental and emotional wellness, and it is my goal to aid the individuals and families I work with in unlocking their wellness potential. |
